Last night was clear here so I imaged Lagoon and Trifid area with my new camera and a Ha filter. Not 100% sure of this as I may have overdone the sharpening trying to bring out some of the finer detail.
I just love the bigger field of view with this combination.
Image Details:
12 X 10 minute subs
Telescope Takahashi FSQ106ED at f5
Camera Atik 11002M cooled to -20
Filter Baader 7nm Ha
Processed CCDStack2, Photoshop CS4
Higher res version HERE (http://www.darkskyau.com/cm/displayimage.php?pid=265&fullsize=1) about 1MB

Great shot Doug
The field is perfect for that region and you have framed it nicely. Would be worth investing the time to capture the other wavelengths to add to this, don't leave it here.
I'm not sure you have over sharpened it but maybe the contrast is a tad high? Some of the brighter areas look to have lost some gradations in brightness perhaps..?
Would you think this is a better camera than the QHY then..?
I like the image :)

Fabulous. One of the great matchups the 11002 chip and the FSQ. A world of imaging possibilities there.
For 2 hours I think there is quite a bit more in this one. The background seems a bit dark and it could be lightened up with curves and levels and you'd see more of what was captured there.

Other than that minor thing it looks real nice!

Huge field of view, and I like the composition.
Clear skies, what's that.... Been so long since i saw that.
Will wait for the next filter to be added , it's what you bought such a camera for.
I ilikemothers will stick to the one shot version, it would take 3months to just finish an image here in melbourne.
Cheers clive

Here it is stretched to within an inch of it's life. Any more and it will tear for sure. In fact down around the cluster (Bottom left) I think it has already torn.
Comments very welcomed.
Yikes - that Cat's Paw looks like the Yeti's Hand!
(That's a complement BTH Doug - beautiful contrasty field - another stunning demonstration of the new gear working well.)

That's one superb widefield shot, Doug!! ... and the stars are sharp right into the corners - excellent stuff!! You're going to have to get the rest of the colour data and post a full colour version as well.

Thanks Guy's I am impressed with it myself. A great combo for sure.
Thanks David
Thanks Marc, This camera with big pixels and big well depth certainly packs a punch.
Thanks Trevor
Thanks Lester
Thanks David. It certainly gives a great field with the FSQ.
Thanks Darren. You are a hard man to catch.
Thanks Greg, I just love this combination. I have given it stretch to almost tearing point and it just surprises me more all the time.
Thanks Troy.
Thanks Garyh. I hope you find the super stretch a bit better.
Hi Mate, Thanks, clear skies are a bit of an anomily here also. I think I have managed about 7 images in as many months.
Thanks Rob. I am very happy so far.
Colour Oh no. will take a bit of good weather to get but I'll try.
Thanks David.

Thanks Mike. I am going to try and get some colour data, just a matter of weather.
Great camera but I think the QHY9 has a lot going for it not the least being the price. I still have my QHY9 and have no urge to dispose of it yet. Maybe down the track but it still gives nice un vignetted views through the RC8" where this beast will loose half its field.
I think the big step up here is in both the size of the CCD and the well depth increase allowing much better overall data and a much larger field of view.
So far I am very excited with the results I am getting considering I am just getting aquainted with this big beast.
Next exploit will be to finish off Eta Carina then get some RGB data on this field and blend it with the Ha data and see what I end up with.

Thats an odd question, are they comparable, at all , totally different IMO.
The curving looks a bit odd.
