Good evening (in Germany it is) ;)

Last Saturday 2010-06-26 my mate Timm Kasper and I were able to shoot this picture of the rising moon between the two towers of the local church. It was the most southern moonrise of the year.

View here in bigger resolution (http://www.robert-blasius.de/schdaff/astrotreff/sakralermond1.jpg)

Exposuredata: EOS 40D, BORG ED 77, 1/13s, ISO 800.

The challenge was not to make this photo. It was to be on the right place at the right time.

First we figured out the correct time and the coordinates for the moon rise with TheSky6. Then we took a compass, the GPS and google earth to get the perfect place with the right distance and the proper angle to the object.

Then everything has to be done fast. Just imagine the moon needed only 5 Minutes from the left to the right tower.
Which means only a few shoots for testing the exposure and the sharpness.

But everything works perfect on that evening. So we are very glad to present you this image.

Hope you like it.

Please Moderators, if you think this post would be better in the "solar system"-section, then please move it to it. Thanks.
