I got one and thought it was busted but it reads about 230 ohms so there's a circuit there and it must be working.

And it only needs to keep a temp a few point above the frost point so it would not necessarily feel particularly warm/hot anyway would it?

I have one for my qhy8 and it seems to work but I always have the camera drying, then assemble it for use and it doesnt fog up. Doesnt appear to heat excessively but I think it supplies gentle heat to the AIR above the chip and near the filter so that no dew condences there.

To the fingers the heater ring feels slightly warmer than the focuser and I haven't had the CCD fog up with it running.

Touch the circuit board inside the metal ring - not the side with the soldered contacts - the other side - it definately gets hot but the metal ring is not in contact with the board so it does not heat up.
