Why do i do this for a hobby.

I started planning 2 weeks ago - took a LRGB image of the star field roughly where the eclipse would be (not even close it turns out but it will do - doesnt matter now anyway). Drove three hours today to get to the observatory - set up, started taking images in a clear sky - by the 4th 10 minute interval i was imaging through cloud and now (9 pm) I have 100% cloud cover, i'm now sitting listening to the football trying not to kick the dog (Its a rotty and it will bite me if i do)

why do I do this?????

Thx petra

Might have been alright if completed but I think in 30 years that I have never managed a full eclipse sequence - take a tip - be anywhere except where I am when there is an eclipse of any kind.

To top it all off itis now raining here at Leyburn -

Australia are beating Ireland but

This segment of the eclipse looks great Mark. judging on this it would have been spectacular if the weather allowed you to record the lot.

Very well done
Thanks for making the effort

We had a fair view of the eclipse at the Rugby, but through intermittent cloud. It reached its maximum about full-time. Killed two birds with one stone - rugby and astronomy!
