hi vicki in sydney theres astronomy shops they sell star disks that you can rotate through out the year to give you the same stars in the sky as you are looking at, you are then able to pick out the brightess ones for your aligning

hope this helps

You could download Cartes du ciel or Stellarium and set them up for your location. Then you can see which stars on the list will be visible. I manually wrote out the list as there were not that many really. I think I had one similar to yours (see reviews here http://www.iceinspace.com.au/41-362-0-0-1-0.html).

Cartes du Ciel:

Stellarium

Also a planisphere might be useful.

If yours is similar to mine and you need a hand over the net let me know.

I see yours is the Maksutov-Cassegrain version.

Good luck.
