View Full Version here: : Solstician Belt of Venus

OK, well, not precisely on Solstice, but, it'll do.
Captured a few minutes of the sun disappearing, the beautiful Belt of Venus over the horizon, heralds the onset of nightfall.
The long exposure has subdued large splashy waves, a few minutes before high tide.
Made somewhere along a lovely spot on the southern coast of NSW.

Another corker H, gives the illusion the foreground water is somewhat lower than the rest of the ocean.
Old Slarty Bardfast did a top job on the crazy paving too.

Now that's a landscape! Heaps to look at, in foreground and background; lovely and interesting sky, great composition and exposure. Don't think there's any boxes you didn't tick.

Wonderful H,
The colours and the geometry of the rocks give this a very off-world effect.

Justin,
Cheers! Yeah, that would be the lull between the waves causing that effect. You can see some of the spray on the left hand-side there. The slate is fascinating. I would love to have seen how that was created over time.
Alex,
Thank you, kind sir. I've got a few more I need to process.
Troy,
Thanks, bruz!
Adam,
Cheers. I was hoping for fiery clouds, but, I'll also happily take the Belt of Venus.
Luis,
Thank you! I had a look at your web site, you've got some stunning images there. Keep up the great work! Great to see another landscaper. : )

Baz,
Getting there, slowly!
I'm hoping it snows up in the mountains, we could plan a camping trip up there if you like. I have a couple of guys at work and a mate who might be interested, too.
Roger,
Cheers. : )
Ian,
You're not wrong! I have a few more to do yet.
Jen,
That's a really gracious compliment. It's one of things that nature photographers strive for, I guess -- to show the inherent beauty around us that we often take for granted, or don't even look at, at all. I'm so happy that my images can convey or evoke that emotion.
Ric,
Cheers, buddy. : )
Thank you, everyone -- more to come as time allows.
