Nice one H, the things they do to some of these fine lenses.

Wow! That's amazing!
"aperature is work!"
LOL
Someone needs to teach him about those ribbon cables, there's a tab on them that locks the cable in. Release the tab and you don't need to yank the ribbon out or force them back in.

Very interesting little project, thanks H. They really had me until they
used electrical tape, which WILL get all sticky and fall apart.
It's a fantastic video too, great use of ramping, which was all the rage
in 2000-2002, but seems to have lost favour amongst producers and
directors these days. It can be very effective if used sensibly.
Cheers,
Jason.

How cool was the production of that little clip? Subject matter aside, that was beautifully done for an amateur production. Great choice in Philip Glass for the soundtrack too.
Looks like an easy mod - but I think I'd use a Dremel rather than a knife... :)

Great clip, also liked the clip showing his tests of the lens. Close up of the burning cigarette looks pretty freaky :)

I've been reverse lensing with the same lens for a while now. Nos sure I want to butcher it permanently though.
I can tell you that reverse lensing gets you CRAZY close though! But very hard to get critical focus. The DOF is only a millimetre or two.
You can also trick your aperture by pressing and holding the aperture preview button while you disconnect the lens from the camera. The aperture will then stay locked in the chosen stop.
