Hi All. Here's an image of a beautiful region in Carina containing NGC 3576, 79 and NGC 3603 + dark nebulae and indications of obscuring matter through upper middle of frame. It's 3 hours of data (50min L; 20 R; 20 G; 20 B; 70 Halpha) through my TOA130 (with focal reducer) mounted on EM-200 Temma2; STL1100M camera using internal guiding. Processed in CCDStack and PS CS4. Approximately 50% of the frame cropped.

It took a number of processing iterations before achieving a result that I was happy with. Probably some way to go yet!

A hi-res version is at http://www.russellsastronomy.com/sky/Narrow%20Field/Hi-res/NGC3576,9-region-final.jpg

Thanks guys . Soooooo many beautiful fields in this part of the Milky Way that we're spoiled for choice. Lots of eye candy to be found there for you, h0ughy, and lots and lots of stars for Mike too! I particularly like the contrast the inky black nebula provides, although at the expense of some of the stars :(.

There's always room for improvement - any suggestions? Comments always welcome :thanx:

Regards. Russ
