Paul, if you meant "keeping up with the Jones's" I think theres a lot of that here too. ;)
I personally think very carefully about my astro purchases re cost/benefit with the exception of buying the ed80. Whilst good for what it is, it seems a lot more useful to the imagers than visual observers such as myself living with light pollution.

I have avoided this thread for fear that I will actually add up what I have spent (and sold...a very small number indeed) in the year...my wife knows about all purchases and has even encouraged a few of them...but, seeing the number on paper will be a shock to us both.
My only respite is in seeing everyone elses list...compared to many I am sure that my purchases are not too bad...at least that is the story I am telling myself...

yeah... lots of little inexpensive things that ultimately weighed in quite heftily... :)
I think my spending is almost over for a while... still need a GPUSB a couple of fliters, and maybe just maybe a 12" Newt... Will have to see how I go :)
