For those using various models of the Eee PC for their scope control and imaging, you may have found the original SSD HD a bit limiting if you want to run WIndows XP or 7. I have a brand new and unused 16GB Eee PC Mini PCIE SSD HD that I find I can't use on my older 700 4GB model. It's easy enough to open the computer (warranty bye bye of course) and replace and there's heaps of examples on YouTube to follow.
Cost me about A$100 including post - will sell for A$80 posted to any OZ add.

I have a EEEPC 900 that has a 4gig main drive and a 16 gig second drive, could i use the 16gig to replace the 4gig?

As long as the 4GB SSD HD you have is removable it should work. That was the problem I encountered. My 701 model turned out to be an early el-cheapo version that didn't allow any changes in HD or RAM. Hence I have it for sale. Here's a pic so you can see the size also.

I did some reading thinking i could change the 4gig internal but i can't, i already have a second 16gig in there.

As a matter of interest, why can't you change it? Is the original 4GB hard-wired in or is there a block in the BIOS? What the cause?

Peter.

Yep hard wired, the 900 series it a bit limited but if you get a 901 you can swap out the ssd card and put in a 1.8" drive.
