Hi All,
After disappointing Queens Birthday weekend weather it looked promising last night so I made a quick trip to Cape Schanck to get Moon and Venus.
Attached are two twilight shots from the cape.
By the way, what is the general consensus - should such images be posted here or in the "Terrestrial" forum?
Cheers,
Alex
Wow! That first one if just wonderful Alex! I love the lighthouse beam, and venus and moon exposed better.
Who cares which forum - just keep posting if they're going to be this good!! :)

Thanks, Rob!
The second image is taken a bit later and Moon is slightly overexposed, however I decided to keep it because of the lightpath on the water from Venus.
Cheers,
Alex

Both fanastic, the lighthouse sets the first one off. And in the second, i've never seen a Venus beam before.

Thanks, Michael!
The Venus beam on the ocean was very nice to observe visually as well.

Simply Sensational Alex, for me the 2nd image is outstanding, it is so beautifully balanced. I think the little extra texture in the water and the effect of the glowing Sunset on the clouds is sensational along with the reflections make it a truly extraordinary image.
Exceptional images.

Wow, if you could combine both of them it would be the best. I love the lighthouse in the first, but the mass of dark grey rocks is distracting. I love the glow and stars in the second, but the longer exposure means the moon is out of shape.
So yeh, both of them please :)
Brilliantly done.

Very nice shots indeed! Thanks for sharing.
That reflection from Venus is quite spectacular. Well done, I like both - it would have been absolutely stunning if the lighthouse had been in the 2nd one too :)

Thanks everyone, your kind words arevery much appreciated.
I'll write a letter to Parks Victoria and ask to relocate the lighthouse onto that lower rock due to popular demand ;)
Cheers,
Alex
I'm glad you posted in the Solar System Section
