Canberra CASDAK tonight!

CAnberra Spontaneous DArk Knights would like to invite any Canberra district go getters to join us for a dark night under the stars at one of our selected sites about 25 minutes away.

We are meeting at the Conder Macdonalds at 7:30PM tonight, then driving 25 minutes out to the site to spend a few hours.

Be aware it will be in the minus temperatures, so bring plenty of layers of clothes.

Bring you cameras, telescopes, power sources, dew heaters, thermos full of hot soup and beanbag or comfy chair!

Cloud on BOM looks touch and go. Standing out under the sky it looks like it might be OK though. If we are just doing time-lapses, star trails and combined landscape/skyscape photos, it could be quite nice.

Currently a thin waxing crescent dropping down in the west-north-west.

I'm still keen. Will make a call closer to 7pm.

We just got back. Had a ball, learned a lot from each other and had a gorgeous night under the stars doing time-lapse, had a bit of cloud and LOTS of crystal clear, cold, dark and awesome views of the milky way in BRILLIANT detail.
