This is a result of a test of both Seymour skies last night (Sunday 13th) and Canon 100mm F2.8 FD lens (modified to fit EOS)..
Not too bad for 10x 90sec stack at f4.5 and ISO1600 (cropped).

Thanks..
Try it yourself, it is very easy :)
Your 90mm Tamron belongs to the same department as this one ;)

This has come up pretty well considering such short subs.

Well done.

Good to see another FD lens user. I got an adaptor to allow me to use an old FD lens I have.

FD lenses are very good.. and very cheap these days - they have excellent price/performance ratio.
I modified my whole lot (50mm, 100mm and 200mm) by stripping off everything that belongs to FD mount, and all that was replaced by simple M42->EOS adapters (no glass in it).
There was also some fiddling around iris mechanism, I had to make those parts from phosphor bronze shim (very straight forward thing to do).
Since those lenses are designed for full frame film cameras (24x36mm) generally they perform very well with smaller EOS sensors, they are pin-point sharp from centre to corners...

All this is valid for astro photography, of course - where all automatic features of the lenses are irrelevant.
