NEW Look Lightbridge

After 4 years Meade has finally succumbed to owners wishes and made the requested changes. Follow the youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANhamymPorI) video for a look.:)

They've painted certain parts black, included a shroud (hope it's not shiny on the inside!), better primary knobs, 2 speed focuser, ext tube, foam around trusses... Nice list of upgrades there.

I think the two biggest disadvantage with these lightbridges are the Alt/Az movement and size/weight of the LTA/Base. If they can remedy those two aspects, it would be one heck of a cheap scope :)

Really can't deny. Lightbridges are such pretty telescopes. The lightshroud and the foam on the trusses are nice, and quite frankly a blood long time comming. I'd also have to admit if I owned one of those I'd be prideful of it.

But, you have to ask yourself. Would you spend your own money on it over the new Skywatcher auto-tracking push-to retractable dobs? For my money, no.
