Australia's red centre is an apt description. Red dust permeates everything. Take away the vegetation and add a red sky, and welcome to Mars :)
Took a series of photos under moonlight for this one....

Thanks guys. Err...What category?? :D
It hadn't dawned on me how bright the full moon is.
I had planned the shot some months ago and hoped to capture a good deal of the Milky way (too used to cooled CCD's I guess)
It was literally lost in blue sky!
That said, some unexpected effects (eg the backscatter) came as a pleasant surprise.

fabulous image Peter.
Wonderful and original panorama - thanks for sharing.
Somewhere before I've read good music should combine pleasant and expected repetition and harmony together with the right blend of original and unexpected surprise. We've all seen pretty pics of the red centre, and also a moonlight night, but the gobsmacking beauty and unusual presentation catches you out here - you just have to say "wow".
I'll just shut up now and go back to enjoying it.....:)

Pretty trippy having shadows on the right of the picture going towards Ayers rock and on the left towards the camera.
Ayers Rock almost looks like a dog laying down, head to the right.
Floppy ears...like a blood hound(?)...

Very nice indeed, Peter. This is one the very few 360 degree projections I saw that don't have a disturbing appearance.
Well done!
