Gday all,
I'm new here and have recently joined the Macarthur Astronomical Society but as im not a fully flegded member yet I dont have access to the member forums. So i was wondering if anyone here is able to tell me whether there will be a large gathering at the meeting at The Forest on saturday (12/06). It's a bit of a drive down there and i'd be keen if i knew there would be a decent turn out.

Hi there Jack :) Welcome to the MAS.

Yes, a number of members will be down there this weekend, from Friday (tomorrow) onwards. If you turn up on Saturday after lunch there'll most certainly be people there. Ask for Ned when you get there, as he's the bloke that takes the $8 per night fee. If you plan to camp outside or stay in the cabin, there'll be room for you, no problems. I'm going to Lightning Ridge this weekend for my father in law's 60th, so I'll miss out on the forecast clear skies, but c'est la vie.

Take your thick woolies as it's very cold there at night. Take food and bedding linen or sleeping bag. There's a full kitchen with fridge, stove, cutlery and microwaves, etc. Full 240v power is available out in the middle of the viewing field, just bring a 20 meter extension cord.

Have a great time - the conditions should be great. :hi:

Hi, I am new here as well, just joined the forum and looking for advice for same outdoor trip and going for camping first time. What kind of bed linen will be best? One quilt will be enough for 5 days trip and 2 quilt covers (http://www.clicknbuyaustralia.com/brand/kas/)?

You may need bed sheets to with other sleeping items on your camping trip usually it will be good to go with queen size sheets (https://www.elanlinen.com.au/queen-bed-sheets) which will be helpful
