Our mild mannered Mod has been receiving some media attention too of late.
Firstly, an interview that will be published in the next edition of "Salt" magazine. And tomorrow, I believe there will be a television crew meeting him at Mapleton Observatory to do a story on kids and Astronomy.:)
Congratulations Paul, for all the work and time you've put into this hobby, it's well deserved. :)

 There are no secrets around this place  Thanks guys. I'm looking forward to the Salt article in particular, its a promotional mag for the Sunshine Coast looking at places to visit and things to do. Very schmick.

I'm not sure what the TV crew want to do this arvo, but I understand it for a program called Discover Downunder. Not having TV connectivity I have no idea what its about. I thought it was like a Simon Townsend Wonder World thing (how long have I been out of the loop  ) but checking on the Net seems to lead to a Caravaning lifestyle program. Maybe one for you and Anna to check out John. :D

I'll be catching up with you soon h0ughy

Thanks folks, it was fun tonight. The two interviewers were Brooke Hanson and Tim Smith the commedian, who is very switched on when it comes to astronomy. But it wasn't all about me. :ashamed: but about the Mapleton School and Community Observatory. There were also kids from the Schools Cosmic Kids Club. Tim was in his element. The kids had a hoot

Wish i could take credit for it Daniel, but the Cosmic Kids Club has been running from the School and using the Observatory for about 7 years now. I just turn up for the spotlight events

Oh and running a few beginner classes for adults.

Hi Molly,
it is called Discover Down Under, and it is on Channel 9, Saturdays 4pm. Should be Australia wide. Have a look at the tv guide, or channel 9 site on line if you don't have a guide.

I just saw Paul on tv!!! Recorded Discover Down Under on Sat, and only just watched it. All decked out in his IIS outfit ;). This is the first time I have watched this programme, and it is really enjoyable. The scenery shots through Mapleton and Monteville are breathtaking. It's been about 20 years since I last visited, so will definitely have to get back up their soon, perhaps even combining it with one of your Astro nights Paul, Nettie & Ron.
