Just came in after over four hours observing Faint galaxies in ARA and PAVO for my Supernova search, seeing about 6.5-10 trans around the same.
Used only a 6mm Radian (300xmag) for the whole session:eyepop: Enjoyable nights observing so far.
Having a coffee and now the wait for JUPITER to see if there are any markings:question:
We live in interesting times:thumbsup:

It's a clear night here as well for a change Ron.
Finally got a chance to check out some new toys :)
Sounds fun Ron!! Glad you have some clear skies at last. Wow, 300x all night!! A good EP? How was Jupiter, or did you crash before that. ;)

:hi:Liz, when looking for Faint Fuzzies most of the time you can use High mag on thes galaxies as I am only looking for any New Stars and not the Pretty Pictures;)
Jupiter took a long time to get to any hight for me to observe it but the seeing was Absolute Crap:sadeyes:
Watched the Red Spot coming into View but saw no markings where the SEB was
Saw quite a bit of detail in the NEB in moments of just above mediocre Viewing.
Gave it away at 04:40 as there was 25kmh winds buffeting me and the scope a bit so it was difficult to keep Jupiter in the eyepiece:(.
Still BEST of all it was "DRY":D:D:D.
Will try again tonight weather permitting
I also had a good go at seeing Pluto, I will be observing it over the next few nights to see if I have actually seen it.
It was sure nice to see see the stars again last night after so long.:D It's heart warming- the love and excitment and awe one gets when it returns after so long. It's sad that we are amongst the few that's sees such beauty. People don't know what they're are missing, though a lot couldn't care less. :(
We do indeed live in interesting times- we have so much information readily available and equipment is affordable.
I'm glad you had a great night, Ron.
