They say it was an asteroid that hit Jupiter

The coincidence is amazing, since Anthony reports seeing another fireball on Jupiter overnight (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=61965), but Hubble site report that it was likely an asteroid that hit Jupiter on July 19, 2009.

This brings back memories of my observing session when fragment G of comet Shoemaker-Levy hit Jupiter in 1994. What an awesome thing to see.

That is neat information, I suppose that would explain a bright light in the image. A thousand nuclear bombs going off at once, took a long time for the light to reach the surface.
