The kids named this photo. It was taken in Feb this year.
This shot was taken as a digital still with a Panasonic video camera. I just pointed it through the ep of my little 60mm refractor and zoomed in.
I'm definately not fishing for compliments. Instead I was wondering if anyone can tell me where on the moon this crater is?

I did an ephemeris with the Virtual Moon Atlas ,and I think that it may be Promontorium Heraclides as his wrist, with the wall of Sinus Iridum as his hook.

Panasonic Video Camera? Have you considered using that with your 10" dob for planetary imaging?

Chrisyo,
I'll have to sit down one afternoon/night and try to nut out the best way to use a bulky, heavy camera at the eyepiece. Tripod mounted and looking down the eyepiece might be the go. Maybe even threading it to the scope....It doesnt weigh as much as a combined 2'barlow and ep, so counter weights may not be needed.
The other problem with using this camera is that I can download only single images not clips. But lets not dwell on limitations and think of the positives.
I'll let you know how it all turns out.
