Hello all...
Found these links during a lunchtime websurf at work.
Might be useful to those with EQ6's looking to tweak performance...

I wouldn't worry about it. There are very good pictures taken on EQ6s and some pretty crap ones taken on EM200 too  It's about the user too, not only the gear.

... very well said marc.
"If a Tool uses the wrong Tool then he is a Tool, but if the Tool uses the right Tool then he has a Tools chance of making the Tool work! So i hear you ask what's a Tools chance? well! the results show the Tools ability to operate the Tool, it generally said to solidify the Tools standing as a Tool!"

Just a clarification for robin, my reply in this thread has nothing to do with him i am sorry if some think that way. if i had something to say i wouldn't have bummed around and made it into a tongue twister. i would have just gave it to you straight up.
Find the funny side in life peeps.!:)

I hypertined my mount(EQ6) and its the best thing I've done in a long while. Forget the hypertune kit, just purchase the bearings locally and get good grease.
I can now guide my 10"SCT at native FL (2500mm) easily for 15-30min subs with no problems using EQMOD and PhDguiding

Darn it! All these posts and cloudy nights are making my fingers itchy!
I'm a bit toward your approach Allan, Keep it simple....So, a couple of questions which I suspect you may have already posted elsewhere on IIS, if so, please advise:)
Do you think it's necessary to change out the big DEC/RA bearings or just the worm bearings, and can you get them locally (Bris) or is Ebay the way?
Do you think it's necessary to re-do the teflon shims thing?, and the stepper motor intermediate drive shim thing some mention?
Finally, did you do the stepper gears clearance adjustment and if so using what? Alfoil, plastic?
Sorry for all the questions, but it's look before you leap time :)
