I shot some footage on the 8/12 while I was waiting for Saturn to come up, the seeing was not that great, again maybe 6/10 or so. I remembered thinking that some of the data might process up ok, so tonight I dug it up and had a look at it.

I don't know what crater this is, I remember spotting it as I panned across the surface and thinking "that looks nice" (my usual criteria :-)). I'll look it up in Virtual Moon Atlas sometime.

This is a stack of about 400 frames out of 4500, taken through the red astronomik filter using my PGR camera and a focal length around 12000mm (f/48 or so).

regards, Bird

Bird - the crater is spectacular, but its the surface detail that I find incredible, like being in orbit around the moon? :)

It's not copernicus is it? It' has the same "terracing" up the crater walls as copernicus, but I can't recall seeing it from this angle before :confuse3:
