Cooked to perfection. One of the best I've seen. The jets are clearly defined and the central stars almost resolved in six. Top shelf.
Looks like you've gone overboard with Neat Image.......hahaha....just kidding of course .....
Peter that is Stunning.
So smooth, the hues are incredible and detail galore.
Excellent work.

Wow, amazing NF pic there Peter, excellent. Smooth and detailed and pretty deep too. The stars look very natural and the slight flouresence tops it off nicely.

Thanks again to all who responded for your kind remarks.
My usual RCOS rig was used to capture the data, fitted with an Astro-Physics/ Baader FFC it runs at about 5600mm Focal length....
The AOL makes life quite a bit easier at these extreme FL's in capturing round stars, but average suburban seeing still meant I had to throw away a lot of data. The Baader unit also induces some off axis distortion, hence some cropping was required.
I personally think the results could be better...but it seems mother nature is doing her best this year to only provide very limited imaging opportunities!

Hmmm, you showing full res there Peter? :) No matter, very nice detail & colour - top shot. Being a teensy bit picky, you might want to reduce the dark halos aound the stars.
Cheers, Marcus

That's some serious focal length. Nice work Pete!

Thanks Marcus...OMG yes, full (binned) res!...and the halos are a shabby look....work in progress :)
Striking resolution Peter. Top work. As previously noted, some of the stars could do with dark halo removal. That aside, a memorable image.

Hard to keep yer bum on the train seat when you see images like this. Even the guy next to me was straining to look.
What we have come to expect, just great.
