Is it perfectly safe to view venus just after sunset without using any filters?

Yes it's safe.
BTW be careful using a scope or bino's to look at Venus if the sun is still up in case you accidentally look at the sun.

Yeah it is possible without a filter although be careful, if you have large apeture as Venus can be as bright as the moon and it will leave a nice imprint in your vision. I use a 12" once and it was really bright. No permanent damage though.

I just receive my double polarising filter today to use for both Venus and the moon.

I have used the double polarising filter on the Moon and it works wonders. No false colours as per a normal Moon filter. Have yet to try it on Venus. It also works well on close binaries where the stars are roughly of equal magnitude.
