2" in flex-dob

Havent had a lot of use of my scope, due to weather, but recently tried one of my 2" EPs in it, but wouldnt fit!! Looks like need another adapter, bugger. :shrug:
Has anyone with the 10" Skywatcher flex dob had this trouble?
My last 10" dob was no problem. :question:

Ooops, its OK, have rummaged around and found the nicnac box that came with it, and voila, there it was - 2" adapter. Thank you anyway. :)

Yes,tis a bit strange. I havent many 2" but still, glad its sorted without having to buy another bit.

How about that! I guess you have another adapter for 1.25" eyepieces? Anyone know why this is so? :confuse3:

The R&P focuser darwtube on my 10" GSO Dob is a 60mm thread with a 2" adapter screwed in the end. All the new skywatcher newts I've seen lately have the same type of R&P focuser as Liz's.

There is a 1.25 and 2" adapters to plug into the 'hole'. In the specifics, it says it has a 53mm focuser.

It is possible that a special optional T-Ring is available to allow connection of a DSLR camera directly to the focuser without requiring the 2" section thereby saving valuable focus travel. This would put the film plane of the camera much closer to the mirror and at a similar position to that of an eyepiece.

Tectron Telescopes used to make a special dual purpose focuser with removable R&P section that was replaced with a helical draw tube with lock ring. The idea was to attach the camera to the helical section and adjust the lock ring so that it the camera was parfocal with the R&P section and suitable eyepiece. Alas this was many moons ago but it worked very well and had no vignetting.

Ill shead some light on the subject seems though i have a SW 10" (well :D whats left of the SW parts)

Unlike the GSO's SW can be used directy to focus with a DSLR. But because of this you need to bring the Eye pieces out alot further, to the point that you need a extension tube straight up (approx 50mm) hence the 2" adaptor, better connection and no floppy eyepieces.

The problem that you come up with is if you want to put any filters/correctors for photography the "non standard collar (the ring at the top of the drawtube where the thumb screws are) is about .8mm to small and hence stopping your 2" eps/filters/mpccs from going all the way down. BAD JOO JOOS!

Recently i did a small modification to Yugents 10" to accept the MPCC and also retain the useage of the M42 T thread (the 1 1/4 ep adaptor unscrew the nose piece youll see what im talking about). Works a treat.
