Hi,
Just Edited:
The 12" Dob comes with a host of EPs listed below...I don't have time to barter and nit pick over it...is what it is..a 12 inch light bucket that performs well and gives big views...once again go over my obs and you will see what I mean. I do not sell faulty equipment, no play them up to be better than they really are. Everything you need to know has been revealed & I am only to happy to answer relevant quesitons.

its $400.00 with accessories however at that price you will have to pick it up from Toowoomba...if you want door service then Its $500.00

The ED80 cost me a small fortune at aoe.com.au and still sells like so...It's a real performer that is quite weighty and smooth to operate...it's $350.00 pick up also and comes complete with mount. I have hardly used it as it was meant to be for astro photography.

Find pics below through out this post.

Thanks Steve...I forgot to tell everyone, that I kind of rushed this post and am now attempting to find time to upload some pics...The scopes where photographed about 18months ago and I'll post newer pics after the weekend if required or I have time.
I will be traveling the rural flea markets selling electronics to make a quid; and only able to check my email and PMs...will divert phone if I remember...rush rush... Thank You for your Patients :)

What price of the Ed80?

Davekyn
21-05-2010, 06:41 PM
Only taking offers at this stage and will make considerations based on feed back after the weekend. I apologize if this is inconvenient.
Posting some pics now. I do acknowledge these popular scopes have come down in price and is why I will be taking offers on the whole lot and whilst I expect the ed will not go for or I will not sell for anywhere what I paid, I will be taking a low offer on the whole lot rather than getting stuck on the lower end of the mark...sorry if that is confusing...but having said that, I may be open to change for the right person. Thanks for the asking. I put in the ED 80 pics....2AM start...need to pack my car and eat...Maybe do more pics if I can.

LOL BigJ...
OK Back from markets and still very tired...3 am start tomorrow :)
I managed to take some more pics like I intended to of my DOB, to show you what others wont when they sell you theirs.

It's been some time since I last cleaned my mirror however for those of you in the know, and if you look at how the light plays differently in the photos you may also understand how APP size can overide the appartent dust the plauges so many of our thoughts as to how often we should clean.....That really is a long story...

One thing I can't play down are some scuff marks I ended up with bacause of incorect cleaning technique, but once again, if you manage to search my posts in the observing or obs report section, you will still see just how much I was still able to see.

There is also a very minor scratch on the secondary from my watch!

At the end of the day its really been a great scope that I have gotten to know well....VERY WELL and am amazed at just how tough these scopes really are and just how much time I wasted worrying about every minute detail.........none the less if you want a clean and untarnished DOB, then I recommend that you simply buy brand new.

The truth is, if like me, you learn a wealth of info from this site and really start to observe in all the manner one does to teas every ounce of perction from the eye piece...you'll be suprised as I was...about the important things that come to light about you and your telescope.

What I am selling here is APP size for a cheap price & for the right person they can rejuvenate this baby to show room condition, yet at the same time still get as good a view as the first day I used it.

uploading pics now and will comment on price later (it will be very fair and provide on opportunity for someone) as well as the ED...family calling...hungry.....Back later...movie and food...down time...
OH YEA ... the second pic was taken after I took the screws out to remove mirror and I always have a mark to assist with collimating after I replace the mirror...there are no missing screws...unit is complete!

This is very very frustrating... I live on the Gold Coast... the ED80 will probably sell before I sell my 8" Dob..

Hey David, I placed the ad for $400... If this is too expensive I might have to lower it and pay using other money... might sell my phone... I don't know...

Davekyn
23-05-2010, 08:58 PM
$400.00 and you can pick the lot up...Good night ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ...no 2am or 3am starts thank God...and who said don't give it away!

Hey Tony, if I did it for $350.00 would you also come and pick up?

:) Molly.............seriously, if I cant sell my 12" Dob for $400.00 with that EP collection then I don't see much hope for any of us. I'd like to go lower but my wife is killing me as it is...this kind of really sucks...I may very well have to resort to the Tender Center at this Rate...OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Dob has to go at that rate (Ya Think!) .....therefore will try to hold out for you a little longer. :) So far I have made a few peoples day, to which I don't mind as they seem to be good people...given there postings as well....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz later and good luck.

Davekyn
24-05-2010, 08:06 PM
I am so glad someone can see that...thanks Dan...My wife thought 11Hundred was a good starting price for the whole package delivered...As it stands now I'm only asking $750.00 for a 12" Dob AND a complete ED80 with good observable mount + all those extras.....
INSANE.

The story is I just paid my first months rent on a shop in our local area, & I badly need some money to do a little fitting. I guess we will get by but all the same if you don't take some risk you'll never know. I've been doing pretty well at the markets selling repackaged electronics and many people asking if I have a shop. The disability support work can burn one out after a while...I cared too much in the end...did not know how to turn off like all the rest!

So that's pretty much my story...doing what I can to keep off the system so to speak & actually enjoying the hard work for a change. I could really use a break here and am hoping I can give Tony one as well.

Perhaps I'll simply re-list at a later time. And to think when I was earning much more than now, I was struggling to find a whole starters kit like this one for Thousands.

With respect Dave, I'm sure several people have made genuine offers
on your ED80 , including me, with no clear price range mentioned by
you in your original advert.
You were after expressions of interest and that's what you got.
I'll leave it up to you if you want to mention what I offered.

This is all done by pm obviously so it is at your discretion which
offer suits you well.
But I must say the conditions of the sale of the ED80 have changed
quite a bit in the last few days, hence my reason for the visible
withdrawal of offer. A little bit unfair on the buyer's part? Maybe.

good luck with your sale.

Steve

Sorry I offended you. I am under a bit of preasure, hence the price changes. A little confused as to what your getting at, but I think it it's best if you PM if you wish to follow your point up.

Currently placing and Add elsewhere. I stand by my claim that this is getting ridiculous. Only two offers on the ED80 & 1 on the Dob. Going Going...

Absolutely no offense intended here but this is a fairly confusing For Sale thread, probably best to keep For Sales a little more concise and clear without irelevant banter and cluter...? From what I read I can't really tell what it is exactly that you (still?) have for sale and how much you want for what..?

Mike

Davekyn
25-05-2010, 11:47 AM
agreed...I'll take it off by days end ;) Point taken and no offense taken...its been an emotional sale and backfired on me. Sale Pending as I speak and will re list whats left in a more professional manner. Thanks for your input...Totally agree.

Davekyn
25-05-2010, 04:11 PM
I have requested this add be withdrawn...If sale is still available I will re-list in a more appropriate manner. My apologies. Lesson Learnt. (can I delete this whole thread somehow?)

Steffen
25-05-2010, 04:21 PM
I don't think you need to relist it, just add a post summarising (in bullet points) what is still for sale and how much you expect to sell it for.

I for one would be interested in the ED80 provided you'd consider selling it without the tripod and that you ship to Sydney.

Cheers
Steffen.
