Not forgetting Anthony's appearance on last nights doco on Jupiter. It was a lovely surprise to see him pop up.:)

Anthony has a "Jupiter" switch at his house...whenever he wants to have something spectacular happen, he just flips the switch and "hey, presto", something happens...like the SEB disappearing:):P:P
Seriously, though, great to see Anthony in the headlines, again:)

As long as you didn't blink at the wrong time :D
I'll have to review the DVD frame by frame to see what I missed! But when David Levy came on talking about 1994, I wondered whether they would be right up to date with 2009. They squeezed a few seconds in!

 I think it went for all of 10 seconds. By the time I got over the shock of seeing him on the telly it was all over.

Yeah, Anthony was on the doco for 10 seconds.
They had a profile shot from the left, then him sitting at a computer pointing at the screen, saying something like "The impact zone of the comet on Jupiter was the size of the Pacific Ocean". :D

Well done Anthony.
Remember grasshopper, patience - dedication - knowledge and expertise - these little things help gain recognition from your peers.

woho, again a hit in the media... good to see astronomy in the media as much as it is good to see a fellow IIS'er in the media :)

Thanks for the heads up. At first glance, after I had navigated to the article, I thought “wow – nice Hubble shots” then upon reading the photo credit (at upper right) I saw Antony’s name there!
Well done Anthony - a modest, quiet achiever if I ever saw one, despite your prodigious talent and dedication.
Cheers

I would have missed it,and that would not have been good!
cheers Chris:thumbsup:
Top stuff Anthony.
It's great to see you get this well deserved recognition.

Congrats Anthony!
Thanks everyone, but wait until the SEB revival on Jupiter starts (hopefully later this year!), it will likely be spectacular :-) I just hope to get some good weather...
cheers, Bird

I checked out Jupiter 2 mornings ago whilst comet hunting, and it looked mighty strange.

Yes something wonderful is going to happen. But rememner the warning: ALL THESE WORLDS ARE YOURS EXCEPT EUROPA. ATTEMPT NO LANDING THERE. USE THEM TOGETHER. USE THEM IN PEACE.
Just let us know if you spot any black monoliths about to engulf the planet. We are in the right year.
Well done!
