Great images Bird! Interesting to see how bright Io is in the methane image.
I'm guessing the GRS is easier to spot visually, now that it's surrounded by pale clouds? I'll have to get the scope out and have a look!

Is that as good as it gets; hard for me to emagine seeing any better images of Jupiter. The second methane image seems give the GRS a pronounced look.
Fantastic views, thanks.
Thanks guys, it's early days yet Lester :-)
cheers, Bird
Stephen, it ought to be very easy to see at the moment, probably easier than any time in the last 10 years I'd guess
cheers, Bird

Simply stunning Bird, I agree with Lester, reckon the only way to top these would be to go there.

Wow Anthony, I think that's the best early season I've ever seen.

Fantastic images Anthony, if you push it any further we might start to see details on the moons too.

Great one!
Looking forward to many more!
Many people on this forum have already got surface detail on pretty much all the galilean moons... Io shows some albedo features in the images here (darker at the poles and bright around the equator) and if you look around you'll find images from previous years with surface details on Ganymede and Callisto .
Maybe this year we can improve a little, as Jupiter will be closer to us and slightly larger than in previous years...
cheers, Bird
