I'm sad to have to part with this setup, however, at the moment i need the money and i haven't used the setup for about 8 months.
The mount is a straight HEQ5 with basic hand controller. I have a 12v powerpack which plugs straight in to AC. I have the D cell pack that came with it as well, however, the connector plug is not on it. As far as the mount is concerned, it seems to perform well for short exposures if you are taking photos. I had the mount apart and performed some basic adjustments to it. I have re greased it with white lithium grease and cleaned up any burrs, etc on the worm and drive. Tripod of course is included. Has polarscope.
I will sell with the scope which is an 8" Saxon f6 OTA. It has a straight focuser (not 10 to 1) which is a GSO brand, not the original and is not bad for the price. Two eyepieces, a 25mm Pl and a 15mm Pl. I have modified the tube as you can see from the images. This has lightened the weight and increased cooling time considerably. Straight through 8 x 50 finderscope. Adjustment springs on main mirror cell have been beefed up in size from memory.
The timber platform between the OTA and mount is a custom job i put on which allows another camera to be piggybacked on the side of the main scope. didn't really get around to using it.
I would be asking around $780 for the lot (pick up only due to size). If you are getting started in astrophotography, you can put a camera straight on it and off you go. It will of course work fine for visual work as well. Inspections welcome.
