Hi All,

Imaged Saturn early last night in very good seeing. Out here the seeing is often very good early on and just seems to hang in for hours.

These images have been heavily processed to highlight the SED's related storm. I have attached 4 RGB's that cover the transit of the storm and also an animation of the 5 RGB's that were captured over this session.

Hit the deck again at 4:30 am CST for Jupiter for my first attempt at the GRS for this apparition. The image was very stable but the seeing for the entire session was effected by very light high altitude Cirrus that was wafting through, this has made my images a bit softish.

I have posted 2 Jupiter RGB's, in the first Io is in transit about 3/4 of the way across the planet to the East. In the second image Io is in transit but close to the limb and is very bright. The GRS seems very lonely and marooned in a very quiet SEB. There is a most interesting rift in the NEB that seems to have an associated white oval.

With my Jupiter images I do no post capture colour adjustment as I rely on my histogram settings at capture for colour balance.

Thanks for looking.
Regards
Trevor

Hi All,

Note, with my 2nd Jup image at 20:14 UTC the CMI was 284.1 and CMII was 140.3

Great stuff Trevor.
My scoping is usually during the day or the Moon. It is great to see images of the planets - thanks for sharing your work!

I was going to say you are a machine Trevor, but machines break down, you just keep turning them out, and at a very good quality.

Thanks for the view. All the best.

Thanks Matt, actually I am pretty pleased that you use your scope during the day, always look forward to seeing whats up with old Sol.

Thanks Bird, often the seeing can be quite good very early in the evening out here, especially this time of year with the cooler days meaning that there is not such a dramatic drop in temp between day & night. Just need the high pressure systems to track inland, which is normally the case.

Thanks for the very generous comment Lester.

Thanks Clayton, the storm is sure fading but the seeing was very good which made it a lot easier to highlight.

Thanks Duncan, I reckon animations of faint structure like this storm really help to define the extent of the clouds involved.

Thanks Mike, must say that I am not too disappointed about the cloud thats overhead tonight, think I might have an early one and catch up on some sleep.

Thanks Jaicoa and welcome to IIS, great to see a fellow amateur from the other side of the planet posting here.
