After 8 years with cars that were at best 500th of a second per lap slower than the leading cars Mark now has his hands on one that is the fastest in F1. And he's making it count with 4 poles and 4 wins and lots of podiums in the last 10 months! I really hope he keeps up this form and wins the title this year. Congrats on your Monaco win first aussie to win it since sir jack brabbam in '59!:)
Anyone who can negotiate the Monaco circuit in an F1 car without blinking and
becoming unstuck has amazing driving skills and nerves of steel. Anyone who manages
to win the Monaco Grand Prix instantly joins the ranks of some of the greatest drivers
in the sport, both past and present.
Mark Webber's performance on Sunday was stunning and overwhelmingly
convincing. Every time the safety car came out, which was testimony to how easy
it is for even highly experienced drivers to become unstuck, afterwards he
would still manage to pull away from the pack and team mate Vettel admitted during
the debrief that he just couldn't keep up with Mark.
The broadcast of the event is repeated again tonight (18th May 2010)
on Channel One at 18:15 and is highly recommended for anyone who missed it.
It was one exciting race. It was so good, I just have to watch it again.

He's always been a bit of a Monaco specialist, so I was quietly confident he could do it last weekend. I was a bit worried about the Ferrari's during practice though. Once he got into the first corner ahead, it was looking a lot better. I walked Monaco a few years ago ... amazingly tight and narrow.

It certainly was a dominating performance and on a very different track from a week previously when he'd done the same thing in Spain. The precision with which he handled the Red Bull around the frighteningly narrow and unforgiving circuit, was a delight to watch.
Vettel may be living to regret his sly move on the inside of the first corner after Mark won pole in Malaysia. Vettel may have won that race, but he also unleashed the Aussie beast and the young German presently seems to have no answer!:driving:
Go Mark and the best of luck for the rest of the season.

I made a post when Mark Webber had his first win and some people said he was an average driver  I wonder if this is going to be a repeat of Jenson Button, by going on to be World Champion or giving a good nudge anyway.
Go Mark:thumbsup:
