Hi guys,

Been a while since I last took an image, it's getting really cold nowadays.

I went up to Mt Stromlo Observatory in ACT the other night and took this image of the leo triplet, total 4hr10min of 10min subs. Huge difference in light pollution between there and my backyard in Melbourne...

I also have a new PBase account :D, it only has a few pictures so far, but hopefully that increases over time...

Lovely image George.

Shame Marcus has stollen your (amd everybody else's) Leo Triplet thunder ..but your image manages to still holds its own

Yes, it is amazing just how good Mt Stromlo still is as an observing site, that's Canberra for you, high, dry, inland and no industry .

Great shot George. You can just see hints of the tidal stream on the top right of NGC3628. It is quite a long tidal stream of stars.

Hi Guys

Thanks Mike, yes Marcus' image is just out of this world!

Mt Stromlo isn't half bad, especially if you don't point toward the SW horizon at Canberra, a thousand times better than suburban Melbourne at least. It's a pity there won't be a professional telescope here anymore, after the fire.

Thanks Darren!

Cheers. I wonder if that tidal stream is evidence of its interactions with M66, as that has a fair sized halo.

Thank you

Thanks for the compliments

George
