It's ten pages long, but I have goosebumps all over, not sure how I am going to sleep tonight and not sure how I am going to feel next Saturday, because there are several "Squeezes" I am going into that are very similar to this story.

I know I'm an idiot for caving on a regular basis mate, but I'm not a total twit!:P

It is effective at sparking the deepest fears of the imagination. Especially if you are familiar with the experiences of a caver, which I am. Makes it a lot more personal.

It was a good read but i stopped reading just short of the end when he bumped his head and hurt his neck and then all his lights weren't working and then all of a sudden even the phone wasn't working and then I thought, hold on, (I was scared up to this point) this sounds all too made up. Then I gave up on it and stopped reading. I got suspicious right at the beginning though when he was secretive about everything and names of people involved and that he copyrighted this story and no one's allowed to print it etc. But it was a good read.

Gosh, what an adventurer you are! True or not what are you doing reading this stuff doing what you do??? Does it add to the excitement of everything I suppose?! :lol: Hope all goes well for you on your next cave trip ;).

If you want scary, do a little research on Floyd Collins. Reality can often beat fiction...

As a caver and cave rescuer, I have several cave rescue texts with a lot of case histories of rescues, successful and otherwise...

Its these risks that keep you alive, rather than just living Baz!;)

Thats why at 55 I'm still playing soccer with kids up to a 1/3 my age, I hurt after every game but it's worthwhile even if I dropped dead on the soccer field from a heart attack, so be it, at least I'll die doing something that was challenging.

Thats half the reason I've done things like karate,archery, cricket. pistol/rifle shooting, iaido, kendo,, bushwalking, camping, fishing, golf, surfing, rock climbing to conquer the challenge, overcome some fears, stay and feeel alive

Very well written indeed and quite scary. I have spent quite a bit of time in caves, it is a very beautiful experience. For some reason I actually never felt scared doing that, even in complete darkness.
By the way, the movie 'The Descent' is quite creepy too.

Just as I was thinking. I read it last night and it seemed convincing, but in the back of my mind I had some doubts, especially as others mentioned where it gets to the point of the camera not working etc. That seemed a little suss. Then I was left with far too many questions. This all supposedly happened nearly 10 years ago, yet there's no update, no word from "Joe" after all these years, no word on whether these hieroglyphics were investigated further....just didn't add up.

Makes sense now. :thumbsup:
