Hi all
Mikes IR pics inspired me to post a couple .
There from a modded 300D with R72 filter which allows fast shutter speeds.
Just used the 18-55 kit and shot blind ( nothing in the finder unless the sun goes nova )
It aint Ansel Adams but its a good way to spend the arvo'

They're great Zane, way better than my attempts. I'm finding focusing really difficult, and the exposures have to be > 3 seconds unless I use ISO 800.

With the 300D modded, does that mean it's more responsive to the IR light because you have the inbuilt IR blocking filter removed?

With the modded 300D somone told me that all the pixcels are sensitive to IR so you end up with a 6 mega pixcel IR camera instead of 1.5 on the unmodded because only the red ones pick up any IR at all and as you found very little at that. I use exposures similar to unfilterd shots 500th or so at F11 400 ISO
Focus is still a problem with the 18 - 55 mm ( no markings ) but stopped down to F11 you don't have to worry too much. A bit like the old F64 club.
May try to find one of those finders that fit into the flash shoe that rangefinder guys used to use may make aiming a bit easyer.
