What's a 2nd hand 40D price??

Hi

I am purchasing a 17-55 F 2.8 IS canon lens very shortly,I need a body for it to live on,my 450D always has 400 L on it all the time.

I have noticed a few 40D coming up for sale every now and then,Matt from Brisbane had a very good example for sale on this forum recently for $750 with 8000 acutations.I do wish I had of bought that as I know it was well looked after.

Anyhow,I am wondering whats a fair price for a 40D these days,I see one on another forum for $700 with 13000 acutations,seller firm on that price,I am told pristine condition.only used with 24-105 lens,not changing primes all the time.Is that a resonable price?

Modded or unmodded?

If unmodded and you're only wanting to use it for terrestrial use, I usually have a look through the POTN sell section to get a feel for what things are going for. Just be aware that prices there are usually US$.

Not sure about used 40D’s but Matt in Brisbane had one up for sale recently. I also note that DDP have brand new 50D’s at $1,089 at the moment, not that much more than $700 and you get a lot of new features and capability.

Also, when I was in Photocontinental in Brisbane a few weeks ago, in one of their display cabinets they had 3 or 4 ex-Govt Canon 30D’s (http://www.photocontinental.com.au/news_posts/2009/Nov/27/5)with Canon 17-85IS lens on sale with a 3 month warranty for $499.

Ok,thanks Bimbo's,re 50D's has anyone got one here?what are they like?

I had heard the 40D's are highly liked by their owners,Troy-was looking at a un-mod one,not much into astronomy at present.

Good point Dennis-only $389 for a new camera,
