First saturn with my new image scale.

Seeing was probably 5/10 at the most....but mostly less than that.

1200 frames @ 10 per sec. (200 stacked) With this new image scale toucam settings are totally different now. I'm having to up the gain to 80% & gamma to 15-20% (could have been the conditions too)

Only another 3 gig to process! :zzz2: Hopefully I pull a better one out of the hat like last time.:)

another good one Asi... always nice to see these fresh picked just a few hours old - it's almost like looking though the eyepiece... without having to drag my carcass from bed at 3.30am :rofl: lucky the cloud has let me sleep in again:)

You will find that at longer focal lengths, the image does dim considerably, so you will need higher gain and usually 1/25s exposure.

Local transparency conditions also play a major part in your exposure settings (gain/gamma etc), so maybe it just wasn't as "clear" as usual.

Put it this way....I needed some relief from the tension of being 110% on-the-ball while I was shooting, so I took the extension off & thru it at a passing rabbitt & just used the barlow.....Had a good old chuckle & went & made a coffee & drank half of it while I was shooting that one, knowing I would'nt have to worry bout the lil' begger drifting off screen.....I'll take some screen shots to show the difference between the 2 sizes.

Me thinks that pink skirt has cut off the circulation to an important part of your body ASimov, but in saying that the image, even though slightly blurry to tired eyes, is great, and shows the cassini division quite well. where you get rabbit poo from I don't know, unless your doing colour comparisons to get that natural look. Its a great effort. Was the seeing very rough? look like it was with the image shifting as the avi was taken.

Here you go Dave P. The difference in image scale between a standard 2X barlow against my latest wizz-bang setup, which I'll be knocking back on slightly...image scale is great! but it brings out the worst in my rather cheap overall setup.

Wish I could get decent scale like that, but I'm a bit limited with a 6". We'll have to pray for some really nice cool nights with no wind & pristine skies over the new year break....

I use a 6" too Fred..a refractor though.

Yeah, some nice seeing conditions for a change would be nice, pretty hit & miss this year.

Yes Matt...unfortunately the lappy is 800X600 screen rez max. I tried using V3 on it naturally but you can't get to some options....mainly the SAVE button so V2 works for me at present.
