Most of the time we hate living in a city because of how
it ruins our night sky but check out how beautiful this
timelapse captures the pulse of a city:

Love the music.
I have been searching Youtube for some ideas regarding
exposures and intervals etc.

Not bad. Really liked the bit of LAX airport with all the planes coming in to land. That was quite effective.

Hi Steve,

Nice video!

Possibly one of the greatest time-lapse cinematographers is Ron Fricke.

If you have not seen it already, recommend you grab a copy on DVD of the
1982 classic "Koyaanisqatsi" with its famous score by Philip Glass.
Now and then Glass and his Ensemble put on performances where they play
the soundtrack to the movie live whilst the movie is being shown.
I have been lucky enough to attend performances on two occasions at the Sydney Opera House.
This YouTube clip from the movie is badly pixelated and lossy which not does do
it justice - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGawsIrQozk

Fricke directed Baraka that has some wonderful time lapse. Particularly memorable
are the night shots taken at Arches National Park.

The LAX part is fantastic.

Gary, I've seen Baraka and Koyaanisqatsi. Both excellent surreal experiences.

Fantastic. A couple of years ago when we stayed in LA we were a ta hotel just up the road from the one in the early scene where you can see the scenic elevators going up and down.
That same trip we were accidentally delivered to the Marriot at LAX instead of the one at the city, and while our driver was getting back to the freeway we were at one point looking up the approach path,as it was dusk we could see all the planes coming in to land, counted 6 of them just stacked up one above the other.
Took my hat off to the controllers that run that place!
