I am in need of enlightenment.
I have had a QHY5 given to me and I am not absolutly certain, but still pretty sure that it is a standard QHY5. My problem relates to installation on drivers and running PHD. I should point out that I was not given any software, docs or box, hence my confusion of the version.
When I first loaded it I remember that it was a lesson in frustration but finally it was working. PHD would still not drive the scope through the camera and I was not impressed with it as a planetary imager, nor with QGVideo as a video capture, but it did work after a fashion.
I have tried to update the Ascom and made sure the drivers were up to date and now the computer refuses to drive the camera. I get the message for new hardware and when I point to the driver it tells me that there is no better driver for the hardware. PHD will not connect nor will QGVideo. In fact after trying to connect with PHD the new hardware wizard pops up and I got through the motions and get the problem installing hardware dialogue.
If I uninstall the driver with the tool, reinstall the drivers, plug the camera back in, it tells me that the hardware is installed and ready to use. Start PHD, connect the camera, back the the new hardware wizard.
Not sure what I am doing wrong, can't find any procedure or instructions in installing the drivers and hardware correctly from CCDQHY or astrosoft.
Can anyone help or should I just walk away.
Tony
