Here's my last pic from last Thursday night. A small cluster in scorpius in the middle of loads of Ha clouds. Bert did a terrific widefield of the whole area here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showpost.php?p=566096&postcount=1) with his supadoopa lens. I captured the central area of the cluster and the two bright stars next to it so 20x300s with the C11/Hyperstar and a Baader 7nm Ha.

There's a better res here (http://www.multiweb.com.au/astro/NGC6231_HS3_ha_sf.jpg)[500KB] and a full field here (http://www.multiweb.com.au/astro/NGC6231_HS3_ha_f.jpg)[1MB].

I've also added a little link to my gallery (http://www.multiweb.com.au/astro/)in my signature as a slideshow on windows live. It's got all the latest Ha widefield I did. :)

Enjoy the pics.

Thanks Darrell. Sure is plenty to check around. Very busy part of the sky.

Thanks Greg. Yes, starting to getting use to it now and working around things.

Thanks Trev. There sure is a lot around that cluster. Will start a mosaic at the first opportunity.

Thanks Fred. Bit noisy as 1.5h is probably not enough but I've put all my time on Ara that night. Will revisit definitely and add more data.

Thanks Doug. Glad you liked it.

Thanks Marcus. I like Ha on its own. It adds a different illumination and perspective to the whole field. I'm in a 'Ha phase' right now. Loving it. More interested in details and shades than colors. When I'm bored I'll start doing some colour maybe so don't expect any anytime soon. :D

Nicely framed with that cluster, plenty of HA there.

Lovely image Marc

The Ha images look great on their own, as you mentioned the subtle shades and details really stand out.

 Thanks Michael. Yes I have to work too. ... to pay for the astro-goodies ;) I captured all this the same night and I sleep 1 or 2 h between takes so I get plenty of sleep. Just set the alarm. :)

Thanks Alan & Scott. Yes a lot more Ha out of frame too so I'll be adding other panels to this one.

Thanks Ric. Yes. I think it's like black and white photography. You're more aware of shades and variations. Colours good but it levels all this. Some look good in Ha only, some don't. I think this one is fairly interesting in Ha.
