Had a go at LRGB of M83 taken with QSI (17x10 min) and QHY8 (24x5min) exposures and reprocessing it. Im not completely happy with this as I still have another 2 hr of Luminance to add to it from the QSI but I did a meridian flip between the two lots of QSI shots and for some reason the flats dont work as well on one stack as the other.
Anyway I'm now happy that my guiding is great with PhD (0.43-0.46 OSC) and the field with the 10" SCT with focal reducer is mainly flat. Still have a few adjustments to make and a lot to learn about photoshop and this QSI camera.

I must have had my monitor badly adjusted or something as Ive looked at this post on my work PC and the colours are way way off to my liking.
I did an adjust and hope that this posting looks something less like an acid trip than the initial photo which was as subtle as a smack in the head.
Anyway Peter, Marc, David, Darren and Doug - thanks for the kind words as its much appreciated.
Its interesting that on average about one in 10 viewers of a posting ever bother to post a comment.

 That's because we're all jealous of your beautiful shots and also we don't like you :P :poke: ;)

The repro's good but I also liked the warm colors in the first shot. They're both very cool. Maybe your monitor at work is over saturated?

You got some excellent detail there and the tracking was very good. Nice shot.

Greg and Lester
Thanks for the kind words but now Im totally mystified.
I look at my first offering of M83 and it looks OK on my laptop at home and then I look at the second shot that I posted, it looks absolutely insipid.
At work the first shot looked absolutely ghastly and the second looked really fine.
I think that I will have to calibrate my screen for colour as well as contrast etc.
This does get exasperating.

Geez, a bit dark, and you sucked the colour out of the repro and added noise.

I like the details and colour of the first image, the repro is almost grey scale on my laptop.
The detail is spectacular.

Wahoo! I'm 1 in 10.

Whatever you're doing with your new gear I think its safe to say you're headed in the right direction Alan!

Great work - just love to see deep shots of this beast.

Fred, On my monitor at work that repro looks aweful but OK on the laptop at home. I guess that I do have to do some colour adjustment - but should I look at this site at work?.
Brett I bet your wife thinks your more than 1 in 10.
Rob - thanks for the kind words.
