What the heck - here is the fruits of last night. More colour than the nb but there is reduction in detail as well. I am really trying for detail more than faint neb so I will keep playing. Dynamic range was a bit of a pain as well.

Lum - I put 2 lums on it - the first was a Ha (420) + Red (60) blend at 70% opacity followed by a straight Ha (420) at 100% - was happy with no salmon colouring
Red - Ha (420) + Red (60) blend
Green (60)
Blue - OIII(60) + Blue (60) blend

So this is the result so far but I hope to extract more detail as I have a play at home next week.

Astrophysics 130EDT, SBIG ST8300, Astronomik 6 nm nb filters and Astrodon E series LRGB filters

Looking very good indeed. Great detail but my tastes run to the narrowband version. As you said more subtle colours, but here you've maintained the loop details beautifully.

Mark,

The detail really seems to be in there, I look forward to seeing the progress.

There's plenty of detail there, Mark. And, the colours are good too.

Remember, you're only working with a 130mm scope. They only gather so much light!!:)

Plus, you're not using an 80MP camera...only 8.3MP :)

You have to be careful in extracting details from a piccie...you can overdo it and degrade your piccie. It's really a happy medium between detail and "curb appeal" that you should aim for:)

Thx for the comments guys

Yeah - the scope limitations hit me in the forehead often but to get this with a 5 inch astounds me actually.

This only has a quick and nasty Multi Layer Deconcolution blend done it. I dont have CCDSharp lout here so the additional work is really only repeating what has been done. At home on hte calibrated monitor with better deconvolution alghorithms - I am pretty sure I can get more out of it without over-processing it.

Thx again guys.
