Yes Fred is a legend, also Astronomica is a great book for newbies like me. Wonderful images and great text, with broad group of subjects.
the book was / is on special at QBD $29 (was $79!) Also while in QBD I bought another heavy book "Universe" $45 (was $89!) both very useful reference books for general astro knowledge at bargain prices.

BTW I recently joined SEQAS and have been to their meetings and camp at Hazeldean. All great folk ready to help beginners and experienced alike. Just like the IIS community:)

Some great clear skies around Brissie at present, but I seem to be attracting a bunch of clouds when ever I think of setting up. There must be a scientific reason for this as other people mention it :screwy:
