Hi all, I am in the process of doing the H-400 in our Meade 8" LightBridge and I have already bagged a little more than 300 of the faint nasties.

However I am having simply no luck with NGC 3414. I have tried it with both 26mm and the 13mm but have been unable to find it.

Is this one just a lot harder than it should be at mag 11 with a surface brightness of 13.3 or is there some secret I don't know?

Hi, they certainly confirm that I am in the neighbourhood. Now I just got to catch it... maybe tonight?

And they did indeed help. Got it tonight.

My wife thinks that I am getting a little consumed by this hobby... something about spending three nights to find a faint fuzzy that I will probably never look at again.

Seems normal to me!

Good news Brian, congratulations! Funny how some people are underwhelmed by things like this...

LOL...a little different, but some of my friends stopped camping with me due to my obsession with the hobby. Some of them can't even appreciate the bright objects let alone those prized smudges.

Well done on that find:thumbsup:
