More galaxy composites

Well there is doing a "Vanderhaven" (starless images) then there's doing a "Sidonio" (reprocessing) and NOW the newest practise thast's sure to take off in Aussie imaging is doing a "Davies"! :thumbsup:

On ya Marcus simple idea that's, as you suggest, maybe not for the purists and one is not sure whether it is quite right.....but it actually looks quite good IMO :thumbsup:

Beautiful image - you guys are just showing off now!
Very artistic - it certainly would help us out enormously if all these objects actually were located in dense little pockets of sky like this!!

Yeh the Grus galaxies are so small that they needed to be enlarged quite a bit, so that image doesn't look quite as smooth as the Fornax grouping once brought together, the Grus galaxies are only about 1/3rd the size of the Leo galaxies but NGC 1365 is about the same size. So this composite technique will work better for some groupings than others :)

I have actually done this before but never posted it, rather I did it as one of my endless repros...so many of which you guys never see ...thank god :eyepop: you say? :lol:

I see nothing wrong with doing this sort of image. 99% of the images done here are not for scientific purposes...they're artistic, with maybe some science thrown in. So, if you want to show off disparate galaxies closer together, then that's entirely up to the imager and perfectly legit.
