Photographing Fog.. I don’t know what you’d call it, but I came up with a couple of names for it – maybe they’re taken already, I haven’t checked :)

I call it Fogotography, or PhotoFography. Catchy I think!

Here’s a couple of images taken at Windamere Dam near Mudgee, on our way back from the Mudgee Star Party (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/tag/mudgee-star-party) on a cool, foggy Sunday morning.

We couldn’t see any water in the dam – not because of the low water level (which it was anyway), but because of the fog! It was very thick.

Taken with my Canon 40D and 24-105mm lens. Processed in Photoshop CS4.

Larger versions on my blog (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/2010/04/30/fogotography-or-photofography).

Thanks for looking.

I like the Bridge shot Mike, that has the road dissapearing into the fog. It reminds me of a Stephen King Movie..." The Mist "

IThe fog must have looked a treat that morning.

Thx for sharing.

What about "Fography"? Keep it simple. I spat half of the coffee and the cookie I was eating trying to pronounce those two. :P
Cool shots btw. #1 would be my pick.

The second image is very cool. There is something disturbing in the mood it sets.

I'd go for fogtography. Think it rolls of the tongue better.

Marc,

Not sure if any of them are ideal.

The proper combination of terms would probably be Foggraphy.
ie Fog-graphy

But I thought that it didnt run off my tongue as well Fog-ography.

I think your bit thick and you mist the point - I find the subject too hazy myself but then I'm dense and find myself hiding under the blanket :) !

Alright then, let's settle for FROG - graphy. Sound even better ;)

Marc,

Sounds like a lot of Croak to me.

Maybe a nice bowl of pea soup would coax you out from under the blanket?

Beautiful shots Mike.

You need to take some flats to get rid of that vignetting. :)

Very nicely captured Mike.
I can just imagine what it was like being there.

Also like the vignetting, I think it works very well here.
