Hi all,

We had a family trip to the beach at Fingal Head (just south of the Tweed River in northern NSW) on the Anzac Day holiday, and there was some fairly decent swell breaking in the rocks.

I took a few images of these keen fishermen out on the rocks, and this is one of the better ones. Taken early in the morning using the 70-300 telephoto on 210mm, f/8, 1/1500 sec at 400 iso. I had to play around with curves etc in PS to bring out the detail in the backlit spray. Not completely happy with the processing job at this stage (perhaps the overall image is too dark?), but it's OK. What do you think?

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

Nice composition as well as fortuitous timing, Stephen! I think the dark foreboding look fits the picture.

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks for the comments Rick! Maybe you're right about the "dark foreboding look".

Cheers,
Stephen

Looks like someone's about to get wet. A pretty ordinary scene made extraordinary by your impeccable timing. I like it!

Excellent timing, these guys are nuts so the darker image is befitting.
You come up with some great shots Stephen, must have that camera strapped to you all the time.

Thanks very much David, Baz and Justin!

I wish I did sometimes Justin - there's plenty of occasions when I see a great poptential image but don't have the camera!

Cheers,
Stephen
