I took this last night using the QHY with the 80ED instead of the Rc trying a bit of wide field and my alignment was a bit off so I'm not sure which bit of Ic 2944 I got if any
are those dark lanes in the image of some processing/capture error
19f 6 minutes each 3d 30f 30b but still not happy
C & C welcome for sure on this one

That looks like a pretty faint object Trevor. What is causing the gradient in the second image?

Not sure about the gradient I had a fair amount of moon glow around I processed it out of the first image

I think I remember seeing a site where you could send them and image and they would identify it

Trevor I checked it out in WWT...seems you "missed it by that much".
The triple blob is IC2872 & the larger neb is Gum39.
Attached is a screen grab with my ED80 field showing.

Gee was'nt that far off I was sighting with a red dot finder etc etc
oh well interesting as not much data on either of these but tracked it down in Cartes no VB shown for either
