On Zooming (again, natch ;)) guiding and focus is very smick indeed, dunno about levels, but a fine effort Martin

Nice image but your red histogram is probably too pushed.
You could try an S curve on the red channel in curves to pull back the red in the background whilst preserving the red in the nebula.
The background in this area can look muddy but I don't think it is if you check some of the best images around of this area. Rob Gendler's version of an object is a good reference check on colours.
