Hi All,

can anybody suggest what o/s Starry Nights will operate correctly on. The Bintel website article mentions only Windows XP, - whereas I want to run it on either of my lappies which have Vista and Windows 7 Starter. Will it work can anyone tell me please?

Also, can anyone suggest which is the best version between Pro and Pro Plus?

Cheers

Hi Mozzie,

thanks for the prompt info there. Very helpful indeed.

However, your mention of the comm ports creates another question. Many laptops these days, and certainly the smaller Netbooks, don't have the old DB9 type serial comm ports. So, do you just drive scopes etc via a USB port on the lappie/netbook with some sort of adaptor where there isn't a standard old style serial port. Or, does the software these days include facility to drive stuff via a much more common USB port?

Cheers

pro and pro plus allow scope control, but plus has the allsky image. Nice, but not essential.

Thanks Kev. I agree, we have XP on our desktop PCs and they have always been solid as a rock. But only Vista and 7 on the lappies I'm afraid - hence the question.

Thanks Fred - it's looking good for a purchase

I have Pro plus and have used it on all the OSystems XP, Vista and Windows 7 though for me it has the occasional crash when I use it with EQmod to run my scope. Otherwise I think it is brilliant.

Cheers Daniel.
