Had our work xmas party yesterday, went on a cruise around Sydney Harbour.

It was a nice day, but really hot.. 40°C!

Here's some shots taken with the 350D and the funky circular polariser in the Cokin P filter system.

The circular polariser really makes a difference where there's water and a bright sky.

Anyway you can see all 17 pics here: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/mygallery/thumbnails.php?album=26

and i'll attach a couple for the lazy folk.

No processing except resize and reduce quality. All taken with the stock 18-55mm lens.

Comments welcome.

Nice shots Mike :). Your lucky to have a Christmas show, ours got canned this year :(
Do you know what's causing the smudge at the top centre of the pictures?

Ving, some people looked pretty messy, so I think so :)

Thanks Jonathan. I'm pretty sure it's dust or similar on the CCD :( I'm going to buy a Rectal Syringe (ask Rocket Boy about them :P) to try and dislodge it.

I was going to crop all the photos to cut it out, but I couldn't be bothered :)

40 degrees + sydney harbour + alcohol = skimpy clothing!!!!!

hint hint hint!!

Nice colour Mike, don't stress about the dust, you can simply brush it out of the image with photoshop for now. I had lots of specks, all of which disappeared with one puff from a blower brush (bristles removed).
